Assigning Local Object to a ABAP Package...

Assign Local Object to a 'Package'.

We can assign a Local Object to ABAP Package Using 'SE80' and also by using the belonging Object Creation Tcode.

Using "SE80"

Go to Tcode SE80, then you will see following Screen.

Click on Repository Browser, under 'Test Repository' name Select 'Local Objects' from the List, then Click on 'Display'(Spectacles Symbol).

You will see a List of 'Local Objects' Created by you, Expand the List based on the Type of Object we want to change.
Ex :
If you want to Change a data base table to Package then
'Dictionary Objects'-->'database tables' --> 'your table name'.
If you want to Change a Program to Package then Expand 'Programs' and Select the Program we want.

Open context menu (by Mouse Right Click on the name)-->Other Functions-->Change package Assignment(select).

You will see a popup, in the popup window provide the 'Package name' in which you want to save. press 'Enter' or click on 'OK'.

Assign it to a Transport id and save it.
Using the Object's Own Tcode :

Objects Own Tcode is nothing but the Respective tcode of the object where it gets created.

Ex : SE11  - Database table.
         Se38 - Program.

Go to the Respective Tcode Depending on the Type of the Object.

Goto the Respective Tcode --> Provide Object Name --> Click on 'Display' or 'Change'.

Now Menu(goto)-->'Object Directory Entry'-->Select 'Pencil symbol' to edit-->provide Package name --> Save.
